If you think about it, it makes perfect sense that Palm Springs' small hoteliers, their owners, managers and staffs would have to have a keen awareness of local restaurants. It's simply an expected part of the personalized service these types of popular boutique properties provide their savvy well-travelled often fine dining focused guests - guests who knowingly choose to stay at places that don't have restaurants of their own because they figure they're going to go out and explore the local culinary landscape!
So given that small hoteliers often having this type of foodie-focused clientele, they quickly become pretty good at "personally recommending" restaurants for their guests - out of necessity.
